When I was stationed aboard the Ajax (AR-6) we had a Chief Engineer from one of the alongside ships bring a 1 foot steel cube to the Repair Office and challenge the Repair Officer to do our worst.
The next day when he came back there was this perfect cube on the table constructed of 144 1 inch steel cubes.
