Seasickness
is a common malady during the first days after getting underway aboard ship. A
marine from the Mardet was particularly afflicted. The captain in charge of his
unit paid him a visit in sick bay and asked…
"Is
there anything I can get for you?"
"Yes,
sir!"
… The
marine groaned …
"Land."
The USS Tarawa pushed off from the pier in Long Beach. The water was as smooth as a lake. The ship was no more than 10 feet from the pier when people started coming to sick bay because they were seasick!
ReplyDeleteI should mention this was a dependent's cruise. HMCM Cole
