'Do You Own Any Foreign Property'

Serving as a Navy recruiter in Tulsa, Oklahoma…  I found a young man who met all the requirements and was ready to enlist! I explained the importance of being truthful on the application, and he began filling out his paper work!! But when he got to the question…

"Do you own any foreign property or have any foreign financial interests?"

… He looked up at me with a worried expression!

"Well,"      … he confessed…

 "I do own a Toyota."

We enlisted him the next day!!!

  2. I was asked if I had any relatives living behind the Iron Curtain. I had to say yes. When asked who, I had to answer, how would I know? Ah to be 17 and stupid again.

  3. Filling out a US Army security questionnaire back in the mid-60s and hit this question:
"Have you or any member of your family ever belonged to an organization which advocated the violent overthrow of the US Government?" I answered "yes" and was right into the MSGT's desk.
"What do you mean by that answer?"
"My great-great-great-great grandfather was a foot soldier for the Confederacy."
"Dammit, we didn't mean that far back!!"
"Excuse me, but your question says 'EVER'."

The question now reads "...in the last three generations..."
    Coincidence? Dunno
